Description

Wainmans Pinnacle is a dual purpose monument built high up on Yorkshires western moors on the rocky precipice of Earls Crag. It was erected in 1816 by local landowner Richard Wainman to celebrate victory over the French at Waterloo, sombrely, it also commemorates the death of his son during the Napoleonic wars.

Thanks go to :icontaffspoon: for bringing yet another fascinating corner of the county of my birth to my attention :ahoy:
