Light on your feet by crowthius Light on your feet by crowthius
A DD! Who'd a thunk that :wow:

An unbelievable amount of gratitude goes to Kaz D for the feature/nomination/whatever it takes to get a DD, and thanks to everyone else for all the views, faves and comments.

For those of you that are asking how I did this:

I drew the lines with a small pen torch while the shutter was held open using the bulb setting, in a darkened room. Before I started I set the camera to ISO-100 and f/16 and then I screwed off the head of the torch so that the bulb was naked. And then the experimenting began......

Thanks for your time.

This is a fantastically artistic light painting executed extremely well! Light on your feet by *crowthius ( Featured by Kaz-D )
:iconstalker777:
This is one of the most amazing light painting I have seen in a while, and was instantly attracted by the not only the thumbnail of the image but by its catchy title.

I have light painted quite some time - and believe me, it's not child's play (seriously), and I really admire the work and effort the photographer has put in doing this.

I like the light painting very much, not only because it directly focuses on the main subject, but because it has something very special in it. I believe the shoes were correctly chosen, and the image might have looked very much weird on any other type of shoes.

Overall, I believe this image captures the very essence of light painting, and serves as an amazing light-painting inspiration for all photographers out there, including me.

Wow I love this :) It hits somewhat of an emotional mark too; it's comparing warmth to mens boots, the result seeming to represent fatherhood, a loving husband or even a strong, protected man. Very well done artistically and in striking a chord (=

One question: how long did you ''experimented'' to get to that result? Aproximatively how many frames? Just curious :P

Light painting is achieved with a mixture of a rather long exposure photo (As in, the lens is left open for much longer than "normal" picture taking) and skill with some sort of light source. The light source creates a much faster impression because of how bright it is and, if one moves deftly enough, can appear to be disembodied. This gives an appearance of mystical light trails and awesome pictures.
